Plot Thickens! Police investigate more Cons
12 10 2007I’m all over this Larry O’Brien story like Perez Hilton is all over Britney.
But frankly, this mayoral scandal is way more exciting than any celebrity stepping out of a car without their panties on. Want (alleged) proof of that? Read today’s Ottawa Citizen front page…
A political aide to a Tory MP has told police that Mayor Larry O’Brien’s 2006 campaign team was secretly working on a plan to offer Terry Kilrea “something” to drop out of last year’s mayoral race, and that the unspecified offer was “in the works” through Doug Finley, the campaign director for the Conservative Party of Canada.
The aide is John Light who works for Nepean-Carleton MP Pierre Poilievre!
According to the Ottawa Sun, Progressive Conservative MPP Lisa MacLeod has already told the OPP that O’Brien was talking to her about an alleged offer for Kilrea in late July ‘06.
“Larry O’Brien casually mentions to her that she should not worry about Terry Kilrea and the fact that he is losing all his volunteers to him and his campaign team as he is being looked after with a National Parole Board appointment,” the document states.
I smell a made for TV Canadian movie. Howie Mandel can play Larry.
We can call it “Deal or No Deal” too!

Good coverage of this issue - thanks
Whoa! Thanks!
Suddenly the conspiracy theories about John Baird purposely holding back the O-Train funding in order to help Larry doesn’t look so crazy.
And I knew that weasel Poilievre was close to this somehow…
